DESCRIPTION
Rotala rotundifolia (Rotala rotundifolia) Introduction: Rotala rotundifolia is one of the most popular and adaptable stem plants in the aquarium hobby, native to Southeast Asia. Despite its name meaning "round-leaved," its submerged form produces narrow, elongated leaves that range in color from light green to vibrant pink or red, depending on lighting and nutrient conditions. It is ideal for both beginner and advanced aquascapers, offering fast growth and beautiful coloration. Offered in tissue culture format, this Ready to Grow Rotala rotundifolia is free from pests, algae, and snails—perfect for clean, healthy planting. Care Requirements: Water Parameters: Temperature: 20–28 °C pH Range: 5.5–7.5 Water Hardness: 2–12 dGH Nutrient Requirements: Grows well with regular fertilization and CO₂ injection. While it can adapt to low-tech setups, high lighting and CO₂ bring out its red and pink hues more intensely. Requires a balance of macro- and micronutrients to avoid deficiency and leaf loss. Tank Setup: Suitable for midground to background placement. Plant stems individually or in small groups with space to allow bushy growth. Responds well to trimming, which promotes branching and denser appearance. Moderate to high lighting is recommended for best coloration. Care Tips: Rinse off the tissue culture gel before planting. Trim frequently to shape and maintain density, replanting tops if desired. Maintain stable water parameters and a consistent fertilization schedule for best results. With its fast growth, ease of care, and attractive coloration, Rotala rotundifolia is a staple in aquascaping. The tissue culture version ensures a clean, vibrant plant ready to flourish in both low-tech and high-tech tanks. Images are for display purposes only. As a natural product, plant appearance may vary. Please ensure you have selected either the net pot option or the loose plant option before purchasing.
