Vasee MossUp Planting Cloth - Instructions for Use

The MossUp Planting Cloth is designed to assist with plant growth by providing an environment that retains moisture and supports root establishment. Its fine fiber structure is ideal for creating a stable medium for plants to thrive without the need for traditional soil.

Features:

  • No Soil Required: The cloth itself contains water retention and absorption properties, making it a great solution for growing plants in confined spaces or in areas without traditional soil.
  • Water Retention: The fine fiber structure ensures high water retention, allowing plants to stay hydrated even in dry conditions.
  • Long-lasting: The artificial fibers are durable and resistant to rotting, ensuring the cloth lasts a long time, even in wet environments.
  • Suitable for Flowing Water: The cloth works well in places with flowing water, making it a versatile option for various landscaping needs.

How to Use:

  1. Cutting the Cloth:

    • Cut the MossUp cloth to the desired size for your landscaping project.
  2. Washing:

    • Before use, wash the cloth to remove any lint and foam. Clean it with fresh water, and ensure it is completely dry before proceeding.

    • Note: Insufficient cleaning can affect plant growth.

  3. Apply to Surface:

    • After your landscaping skeleton (such as a chevron board or foam glue structure) is ready, attach the MossUp cloth to the surface. You can use silicone sealant to bond the cloth to the structure. For glass jars or bottle walls, apply the MossUp cloth directly with adhesive (use Vasee Micro Landscape Special Sealant for the best results).
  4. Planting:

    • Use tweezers to carefully place the plants onto the MossUp cloth. Gently insert the roots into the fibers of the cloth by shaking the roots and plugging them into the fiber structure.
    • For micro plants, the roots will usually attach easily to the fibers. Note: Plants with larger roots may need additional care.
    • For larger plants, cut the MossUp cloth into strips and secure them with a stapler on a flat surface. Avoid moving the plants until the roots have properly settled.
  5. Watering:

    • Once the plants are in place, spray purified water evenly onto the cloth and plants until they are fully wet. MossUp cloth is highly absorbent, so it might need several sprays to ensure thorough absorption, especially when starting with dry cloth.
    • Tip: Use a plant nutrient solution or diluted liquid fertilizer to encourage healthy plant growth, especially if your plants are in a nutrient-poor environment.

Important Announcements:

  • Edge Debris: When cutting the cloth, there may be fiber debris along the edges. Be sure to clean this off before use.
  • Not All Plants are Suitable: While MossUp cloth is ideal for micro-landscaping, it may not be suitable for all plant species. Some plants may not attach well to the fibers or may require more time to root due to the fine nature of the material.
  • Slow Rooting: Because of the fine fiber structure, rooting may be slower than with traditional soil. Some plants may grow shorter or more slowly, so it's ideal for micro landscaping rather than fast-growing plants.
  • Salt Accumulation: Plants can produce metabolites and salts through transpiration. To prevent the build-up of waste salts, regularly saturate the MossUp cloth with water through sprays.
  • No Inorganic Salts: Unlike soil, MossUp cloth does not contain inorganic salts, so additional nutritional supplementation is recommended for optimal plant health.
  • Reusing MossUp Cloth: Before reusing the cloth, rinse away any accumulated waste with water to prepare it for a new planting cycle.

Sizes Available:

  • S: 30 × 24 cm
  • M: 48 × 30 cm
  • L: 60 × 48 cm

Recommendation:

  • Ideal for Micro Landscaping: The MossUp Planting Cloth is especially suitable for use in micro landscaping projects, where space is limited and plants need support for slower growth and easier attachment.
