Dendrobium King Zip x Den. Brengle is a vigorous and hardy hybrid, combining the best qualities of both parents. Growing quickly and thriving in outdoor conditions, it is well-suited for pots or mounting on trees and rocks. Supplied in a 9 cm pot, this plant is about one year from reaching flowering size. Once mature, it will produce attractive blooms that reflect its strong lineage, adding vibrant beauty to any collection.
Light:
Prefers bright light with about 60% shading.
Ideal setup includes morning sun with protection from strong afternoon rays.
Good air movement and dappled light encourage healthy growth.
Temperature:
Can tolerate a wide range between 3°C and 28°C.
A daily temperature drop of around 10°C between day and night is important for robust growth and flower initiation.
Humidity:
Moderate humidity between 50–70% is beneficial but the plant is fairly adaptable.
Medium:
Grow potted in a well-draining mix of bark and peat.
Alternatively, mount on wood, trees, or rocks using coconut fiber, sphagnum moss, or another material that retains some moisture while allowing good airflow.
Watering:
Water thoroughly when the medium dries slightly.
Mounted plants may require more frequent watering, especially during warm, dry weather.
Fertilizing:
Feed weekly during the active growing season (spring and summer) using a balanced orchid fertilizer at half strength.
