More Information:
Ludwigia repens is one of the few red plants that thrives even in low-tech, low-light aquariums—making it ideal for beginners. Under moderate to high lighting, it develops rich red tones and a slightly trailing growth habit, growing out at an angle rather than straight up. To deepen the red coloration, provide ample light, avoid shading, and dose iron regularly.
This plant is highly adaptable and can flourish in a variety of setups, including non-CO₂ aquariums. It can be planted in the midground or background depending on trimming, and looks especially striking when grouped in clusters or placed next to bright green foliage for contrast.
Ludwigia repens propagates easily from stem cuttings, making it simple to maintain and replant. Regular trimming promotes denser growth and helps maintain its shape in the aquascape.
