DESCRIPTION

Pogostemon helferi – In Vitro

Pogostemon helferi is a strikingly unique aquatic plant prized for its compact rosette form and deeply textured, bright green leaves. Its distinctive, crinkled foliage and slow-growing habit make it a standout choice for foreground or midground placements in aquascapes. Produced in sterile in-vitro conditions, this tissue-cultured version arrives clean, healthy, and free from algae, pests, and snails—ensuring a safe, ready-to-plant introduction into your aquarium.

Key Features:

Compact Rosette: Forms tight, rosette-shaped clusters that add structure and visual interest to the foreground or midground.

Textured, Vibrant Leaves: The deeply veined, crinkled leaves provide a lush, sculptural appearance that contrasts beautifully with smooth-leaved plants.

In-Vitro Cultivation: Grown in nutrient-rich, sterile conditions to guarantee a clean, pest-free plant.

Slow-Growing Gem: Its compact and slow growth makes it low-maintenance while allowing for precise aquascaping placement.

Care Requirements:

Lighting: Thrives under low to moderate light; moderate light enhances leaf texture and color.

CO₂: Not strictly required, but will encourage faster growth and more intense green coloration in higher-tech setups.

Water Parameters: Highly adaptable; prefers a pH between 6.0–7.5 and temperatures of 22–28 °C.

Trimming: Minimal trimming is required. Propagation is done by separating offsets from mature rosettes.

Planting Tips:

  • Rinse off all nutrient gel before introducing to the aquarium.

  • Plant gently in the substrate or attach to hardscape elements, leaving space for the rosette to expand naturally.

  • Place in areas with moderate light to highlight its unique leaf texture and prevent algae buildup.
