DESCRIPTION

Introduction:

Anubias 'Chili Jalapeno' is a unique and visually striking variety of Anubias known for its elongated, narrow leaves and deep green coloration. This rare hybrid is highly sought after for its bold, elegant appearance, making it an excellent choice for aquascapers looking to add texture and contrast to their aquarium. Like other Anubias species, it is hardy, slow-growing, and adaptable, thriving in a wide range of freshwater setups.

Care Requirements:

  • Water Parameters: Prefers temperatures between 22–28°C, with an ideal pH range of 6.0–7.5 and soft to moderately hard water (dH up to 12).
  • Nutrient Requirements: Benefits from occasional fertilization with liquid nutrients containing iron and micronutrients. CO₂ supplementation is optional but can enhance growth.
  • Tank Setup: Best attached to hardscape elements like driftwood or rocks rather than being planted in the substrate. Requires low to moderate lighting to prevent algae buildup on its leaves. Works well in a variety of aquascaping styles, including nature aquariums and biotope setups.

Care Tips:

Avoid burying the rhizome in the substrate to prevent rot. Secure the plant to hardscape using thread or aquarium-safe glue until it naturally attaches. Regularly remove any algae buildup from the leaves to maintain its vibrant, healthy appearance.

Anubias 'Chili Jalapeno' is a fantastic choice for aquarists looking for a hardy, low-maintenance plant with a unique leaf shape. Its striking form and adaptability make it a great addition to any planted aquarium, from beginner setups to advanced aquascapes.
