Looking to brighten up your shrimp tank? The Orange Rili Shrimp is a stunning and uncommon variety of Neocaridina davidi. With vivid tangerine-orange coloration and eye-catching translucent patches, this variety offers a unique twist on the popular Red Rili Shrimp. Hardy, peaceful, and easy to care for, Orange Rilis are perfect for beginner and seasoned shrimp keepers alike.
Orange Rili Shrimp thrive in stable, well-cycled aquariums of at least 5 gallons. They’re not demanding and adapt well to a wide range of water parameters. A sponge filter or filter with a shrimp-safe guard is ideal. While a heater isn't mandatory, stable temperatures are important—avoid fluctuations.
Provide ample hiding spots with plants, rocks, moss, or driftwood. A well-decorated tank not only looks great but helps reduce stress and encourage natural behavior.

Like other Neocaridinas, Orange Rili Shrimp are peaceful and social. They do best in species-only or invert-only tanks. Avoid larger or predatory fish. Suitable companions include:
Nerite or mystery snails
Thai micro crabs
Caridina shrimp (e.g., Crystal Reds)
Tiny, peaceful fish like microrasboras may work, but risk remains, especially for baby shrimp.
These omnivores thrive on biofilm and algae but need supplementation in the aquarium. Provide a high-quality shrimp food (like Ebita Breed), and mix in blanched vegetables, leaf litter, algae wafers, or even unsalted nori for variety. Always remove uneaten food to maintain water quality.
Breeding Orange Rili Shrimp is straightforward. With both males and females present and conditions stable, females will carry 20–40 eggs under their swimmerets. These hatch in about 30 days into fully formed miniature shrimp that require no special care.
