Bucephalandra ‘Brownie Ghost Ulu Kapuas’ – Potted Plant
Bucephalandra ‘Brownie Ghost Ulu Kapuas’ is a rare and highly desirable Bucephalandra variety, named after its origin in the Ulu Kapuas region of Borneo. It features narrow, dark green to brown leaves with subtle ghostly iridescence that can shimmer under aquarium lighting. Like most Bucephalandra, it is a slow-growing, hardy epiphyte that thrives when attached to rocks or driftwood. Supplied in potted form, it arrives with a strong root system, making it easier to establish in your aquarium.
Rare Variety: A unique Bucephalandra from Ulu Kapuas, sought after for its subtle ghost-like shimmer.
Distinctive Leaves: Narrow, dark-toned leaves with gentle iridescence under LED lighting.
Compact Growth: Slow-growing and low-maintenance, perfect for nano tanks or as accents in larger aquascapes.
Epiphytic Plant: Best attached to hardscape—rocks, driftwood, or decorative elements.
Potted Form: Strong roots for easy establishment and long-term health.
Lighting: Prefers low to medium lighting; excessive light may cause algae growth on leaves.
CO₂: Not required, but CO₂ injection will encourage healthier, faster growth and enhance its subtle shimmer.
Water Parameters: Adaptable to most setups, with pH between 6.0–7.5 and temperatures of 22–28 °C.
Growth Rate: Very slow, rewarding aquascapers with long-lasting beauty once settled.
Propagation: Divide the rhizome carefully to create new plants.
Remove from the pot and gently rinse off excess rockwool before planting.
Avoid burying the rhizome—secure the plant to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape with thread, glue, or fishing line until roots anchor naturally.
Best placed in shaded or low-flow areas of the aquarium to protect its delicate leaves and prevent algae buildup.
