Overview: The Nannostomus unifasciatus, commonly known as the One-lined Pencilfish, is a captivating addition to any freshwater aquarium. Known for its slender body and striking single horizontal stripe, this species brings a touch of elegance and activity to planted tanks.

Appearance:

  • Body: Long and slender with a pronounced horizontal black line running from the snout to the tail.
  • Coloration: Subtle iridescent hues can be observed under good lighting, often with shades of bronze and silver.
  • Size: Typically grows up to 5 cm in length.

Behavior:

  • Temperament: Peaceful and sociable, best kept in schools of 6 or more.
