DESCRIPTION

Ludwigia repens 'Super Red'

Description
Ludwigia repens 'Super Red' is a vibrant, fast-growing stem plant prized for its intense red coloration and dramatic presence in aquascapes. Native to North America, this variety has been selectively cultivated for its deeper red hues, especially when grown under optimal lighting conditions. Its contrasting color makes it an excellent choice for midground to background placement, where it adds a bold splash of color and enhances visual depth in planted tanks.

Care Requirements

  • Lighting: Medium to high (strong lighting enhances red coloration)

  • CO₂: Recommended for best color and growth, though not strictly required

  • Temperature: 20–28°C

  • pH: 6.0–7.5

  • Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water

  • Growth Rate: Fast

  • Placement: Midground to background

Care Tips

  • For the deepest red coloration, ensure high lighting intensity and supplement with CO₂ injection.

  • Regular trimming encourages bushier growth and prevents lower leaves from shedding due to lack of light.

  • Use a nutrient-rich substrate or supplement with root tabs and liquid fertilizers for optimal health.

  • Can be propagated easily by cutting and replanting healthy stems.

Note: Images are for display purposes only; plants are natural products and may vary in size, shape, and color. Please ensure you have selected either the net pot or loose plant option before purchase.
