Background:
The Glowlight Danio, Danio choprae, is a dazzling freshwater fish native to the fast-moving streams of Myanmar. It is named for its vibrant, flame-like orange and golden stripes, which shimmer brilliantly under aquarium lighting. This small, energetic species grows to about 2.5–3.5 cm and is popular for its lively behavior and striking appearance. Also known as the Orange-finned Danio, this fish is highly social and thrives in groups, making it a captivating choice for community aquariums.

Tank Setup:
A minimum tank size of 50 liters is recommended for a group of 6–8 individuals. Provide a soft, sandy substrate and plenty of live plants to create hiding spots and mimic their natural habitat. Add driftwood and smooth rocks to enhance the aquascape. Moderate lighting brings out their vibrant colors, while a strong water flow simulates the fast-moving streams they inhabit in the wild.
Behavior:
Glowlight Danios are highly active and shoaling fish, happiest in groups of their own kind. They are peaceful and generally occupy the mid-to-upper levels of the tank. Their lively swimming and dynamic interactions make them entertaining to watch.
Tank Mates:
Ideal companions include other small, peaceful species like Neon Tetras, Harlequin Rasboras, and Corydoras. They also coexist well with other Danio species and small shrimp. Avoid housing them with large or aggressive fish that might outcompete them or cause stress.

To ensure their health, maintain clean, well-oxygenated water with regular partial water changes. A tight-fitting lid is essential, as Glowlight Danios are excellent jumpers.
