A strikingly patterned, small growing species of Hypancistrus from the warm, acidic water of the Orinoco and its tributaries, the L340 or Mega Clown Pleco is an ideal species for the small to medium community aquarium.

Lifespan: Up to 10 years
Habitat: The Mega Clown Pleco is primarily nocturnal, but will often become active during daytime hours once established in an aquarium with plenty of driftwood, rockwork, and other hiding places.
Diet: This pleco is considered carnivorous. They will readily accept bloodworms and brine shrimp. Quality pellets that contain more meaty ingredients such as silkworm are also a particularly good food for them that they enjoy.
Temperament: As with all these catfish, hiding places must be provided as they will be more active in the evening than the daytime. The L340 Mega clown pleco may become territorial with their own species as they mature.
