Nepenthes ‘Gaya’ is a colourful, easy-growing hybrid pitcher plant known for its beautifully mottled pitchers and vigorous growth habit. With its vibrant red-speckled traps and attractive lime-green leaves, this tropical carnivorous plant makes an eye-catching addition to indoor collections, terrariums, and bright patios. Its pitchers naturally lure and digest insects, providing essential nutrients that allow the plant to thrive even in poor soils.
‘Gaya’ is an intermediate-type Nepenthes hybrid, making it adaptable to a wide range of household conditions. With bright, diffused light, high humidity, and proper watering, it will produce new pitchers consistently throughout the year.
Type: Carnivorous tropical pitcher plant (Intermediate hybrid)
Light: Bright, diffused light; morning or late-afternoon sun is ideal. Avoid harsh midday sun.
Soil: Loose, airy, water-retentive mix — ideal blend: carnivorous soil mix + sphagnum moss + akadama or perlite.
Watering: Keep soil evenly damp; water from above until runoff. Do not allow the pot to sit in water. Use RO, distilled, or rainwater only.
Humidity: 60–70% preferred; low humidity may prevent new pitchers from forming.
Temperature: Tolerant of a wide range; avoid cold drafts or exposure to low temperatures.
Feeding: Optional but beneficial — offer dried mealworms, crickets, or bloodworms directly into pitchers. Light foliar feeding can help boost growth.
Dormancy: None required; grows year-round in warm indoor or greenhouse conditions.
