DESCRIPTION

Hydrocotyle tripartita (Hydrocotyle tripartita)

Introduction:

Hydrocotyle tripartita is a fast-growing, spreading plant from Southeast Asia, known for its small, clover-like leaves and creeping growth habit. It forms dense mats that make it ideal for carpeting or trailing over hardscape. The bright green foliage and dynamic form bring a playful, natural look to aquascapes, making it a popular choice for both beginners and experienced hobbyists. Provided in tissue culture format, this Ready to Grow version arrives completely clean—free of snails, algae, and other contaminants.

Care Requirements:

  • Water Parameters:
    Temperature: 20–28 °C
    pH Range: 6.0–7.5
    Water Hardness: 2–10 dGH

  • Nutrient Requirements:
Thrives with CO₂ supplementation and regular fertilization, especially in high-light setups. Responds well to micronutrients and iron for vibrant, fast growth.

  • Tank Setup:
Best used in the foreground or allowed to trail over rocks and wood. Prefers medium to high light to maintain compact, horizontal growth. Can also grow emersed in humid conditions.

Care Tips:

Rinse tissue culture gel thoroughly before planting. Break into small clumps and space out to encourage spreading. Trim regularly to prevent vertical growth and keep a neat carpet. Watch for signs of nutrient deficiency such as pale leaves.

With its cheerful, clover-like appearance and energetic spread, Hydrocotyle tripartita is a lively addition to any aquascape. The clean, pest-free tissue culture format offers a strong, healthy start for hobbyists looking to create lush, low-growing plant zones.
